The tools themselves
Every tool on this site runs in your browser using JavaScript. Keyboard presses, mouse movement, screen measurements, camera and microphone streams, files you open and text you paste are processed on your device only. They are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. Some tools save your settings (for example a preferred keyboard layout or a timer length) in your browser's local storage so they are there next time; that data never leaves your browser and you can clear it through your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are used and how the site performs. It is privacy-first: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices and does not track you across other websites. It records the page visited, the referrer, the browser type and coarse country, in aggregate.
Advertising
Pages may show adverts served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show adverts based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure their performance. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings and learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com. Visitors in the UK and EEA are shown a consent prompt before any advertising cookies are set, and can change their choice at any time from the link in the footer.
The IP address tool
The What is my IP page reads your address from the request to our own Cloudflare edge function and returns it to you; we do not store it. To show your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses separately, that page also has your browser ask two public echo services directly — ipify (with icanhazip as a fallback) — which reply with the address they see. They receive your IP address as any website does; no other data is sent. No other tool on the site contacts a third party.
Cookies
Key & Pixel itself sets no cookies. Local storage is used only for your own preferences as described above. Advertising cookies, where consented to, are set by Google as described in the previous section.
Hosting and logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request metadata to deliver pages and defend against abuse; these logs are retained briefly and are not used by us to identify individuals.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. Because the tools do not collect personal data, in practice the only data we could hold about you is anything you send us by email. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for a month.
